How it works
The DrainHog food interceptor is installed directly at the sink output. It is available on a stand or with wall mounting brackets. Its Hoggeez filter retains the residues but not the water, substantially reducing sediment accumulation in the grease trap and further minimizing the risk of clogging in the piping system.
Door and latches: The DrainHog unit is sealed watertight by a door with two side latches and has a 50 in2 opening to access interior components.
Shaker: Allows the user to shake the Hoggeez filter inside the tub, thus having the residus sticked to the filter sides to fall at the bottom, in turn equilibrating waste in the fi lter while optimizing its capacity.
Support: The DrainHog is available on a stand or with wall-mounting brackets. The stand version adapts the height of the unit for a better fit. The wall-mounted version is adjustable in depth.
Connection: The DrainHog stand model connection has an opening that can accommodate a vent or be closed with a cap as well as a 2” input. The connection for the wall-mounted unit is shorter and direct, has a 1½” diameter and no vent opening.
Discharge: The DrainHog discharge is designed to prevent water stagnation. Thanks to its slope, wastewater flows naturally towards the 2” MNPT outlet.
Hoggeez filters: Filters are available in cotton or nylon, depending on the application. The cotton filter is used for general operations, while a nylon version is available for applications requiring finer filtration (coffee, soil).
Rings: The filter ring is breakable, which is a clear advantage of the cotton model, since the filter itself and all its contents can be disposed of in the compost bin. Just break the ring above the tray. The broken ring pieces can also be recycled.
