You have a drain problem?

The Solution

Clogged pipe or backflow

When your kitchen sinks don’t flow because of obstructed pipes, your operations are less effective, resulting in downtime. With DrainHog, you can avoid all these problems. By intercepting the solid waste in your sink, DrainHog will help you keep your pipes clean and in good working condition, preventing solid particles from blocking your pumping stations and creating backflow, and most importantly, saving you lots of money.

The Solution

Recurrent costs

Kitchen maintenance includes its share of recurrent costs, and emptying the grease trap is one that comes up very often. With DrainHog intercepting food waste, less will reach the grease trap, therefore making it more efficient and reducing the cleaning frequency of your grease trap in addition to significantly minimizing the risk of your pipes clogging with food residue.

The Solution

Offensive odours

Do foods that make their way into the grease trap and decompose cause your kitchen to be filled with stinking odours that are anything but appetizing? With the DrainHog food interceptor, you decrease the amount of solid waste reaching the grease trap, significantly reducing strong odours.

The Solution

On-site wastewater treatment system?

Is your property located outside major urban centres and not connected to the municipal sewer?DrainHog will help you lower organic load (BOD5) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) going in your system, preventing the potential clogging of your leaching or polishing fields.

The Solution

Additional charges for high organic load

Do you have to pay substantial charges for high organic loads in five-day biological oxygen demand (BOD5) and total suspended solids (TSS)? You can reduce these parameters with the DrainHog food interceptor.

The Solution

High wastewater treatment costs?

By encouraging institutions that work in the food industry in your territory to use DrainHog units, you significantly reduce the amount of suspended solids sent to your municipal wastewater treatment system.

The Solution

Premature maintenance of your pipes?

By controlling discharge of total suspended solids (TSS) and five-day biological oxygen demand (BOD5) at the source with the DrainHog food interceptor in your industrial area, periodic maintenance of your lines will be spaced out, considerably reducing your annual costs.

How it works

The DrainHog food interceptor is installed directly at the sink output. It is available on a stand or with wall mounting brackets. Its Hoggeez filter retains the residues but not the water, substantially reducing sediment accumulation in the grease trap and further minimizing the risk of clogging in the piping system.

Door and latches: The DrainHog unit is sealed watertight by a door with two side latches and has a 50 in2 opening to access interior components.

Shaker: Allows the user to shake the Hoggeez filter inside the tub, thus having the residus sticked to the filter sides to fall at the bottom, in turn equilibrating waste in the fi lter while optimizing its capacity.

Support: The DrainHog is available on a stand or with wall-mounting brackets. The stand version adapts the height of the unit for a better fit. The wall-mounted version is adjustable in depth.

Connection: The DrainHog stand model connection has an opening that can accommodate a vent or be closed with a cap as well as a 2” input. The connection for the wall-mounted unit is shorter and direct, has a 1½” diameter and no vent opening.

6Discharge: The DrainHog discharge is designed to prevent water stagnation. Thanks to its slope, wastewater flows naturally towards the 2” MNPT outlet.

Hoggeez filters: Filters are available in cotton or nylon, depending on the application. The cotton filter is used for general operations, while a nylon version is available for applications requiring finer filtration (coffee, soil).

8Rings: The filter ring is breakable, which is a clear advantage of the cotton model, since the filter itself and all its contents can be disposed of in the compost bin. Just break the ring above the tray. The broken ring pieces can also be recycled.

The drain hog

DrainHog is available on legs or wall bracket (suspended) to fit all sorts of kitchen configuration without affecting its efficiency. Depending on the type of fluid going through your kitchen, a tipper is also available in order to optimize the filter capacity.

On-legs unit

On-legs unit (DrainHog-L) Supports fixed to the floor are adjustable to 1¾” in height through five increments of 3/8” each. The connection has an opening that can accommodate a vent or stay shut with a cap, and a 2” input. The design of the unit allows for the natural flow of wastewater through the 2″ [...] View product

Hoggeez Filters

Hoggeez filters are designed for ease of use. Since the ring is breakable, when the Hoggeez is full, simply unscrew the unit and break the filter above the disposal bin. The filter and its contents will separate from the ring. The ring can then be recycled. Hoggeez filters are available in Master packs (boxes of 3) only.
